Bill Raup, Jr., Bill, Sr. and Norma started NBR Inc. in November of 1997 as an off shoot of an LTL truck line they owned in Lee's
Summit, MO.
Bill Sr. who had 45+ years in the transportation business passed away in 1998 taking a wealth of knowledge
with him. The company struggled through this loss and saw a turnaround beginning in 2001. Norma was able to see the beginnings of
this change prior to her passing in 2001.
With the knowledge acquired from his parents and several "better lucky than good" hiring moves, Bill, Jr. has seen NBR enjoy tremendous growth in the last five years. This can be largely attributed to the employees of NBR Inc. and a customer and carrier base that has grown with us.
In 2001 we saw the addition of bulk tanker business and oversize loads, followed in 2004 by entering the air freight and expedited business. The fourth quarter of 2005 saw the company expand further by opening up a location in Arizona. We opened our Nevada office in 2006, followed in 2007 by new offices in California and Indiana. In April 2007, we fortified our ground coverage through the creation of web based shipping portal NBR Live.
We at NBR joke about being the little company that was not supposed to survive let alone thrive, yet our little internal family has done just that. We work hard to partner with our customers and carriers and make them part of our extended family so that all may experience continued success for years to come.
